Rwanda Balance of payment (BOP) statistics compilation follows the International Monetary Fund (IMF) guidelines and is produced annually. But BOP components regularly released are monthly external trade (formal and informal exports and imports), monthly forex transactions of commercial banks, monthly forex bureaus and money transfers’ operations, and services collected from related companies on quarterly basis. The BOP published series from 1998 to 2014 follows the fifth edition of the balance of payments statistics (BPM5) but with the introduction of the sixth edition of the balance of payments statistics and international investment position (BPM6), 2015 is disseminated in BPM6 framework with historical numbers starting from 2010 because it is cut off data during the mapping process from BPM5 to BPM6. Note that 2015 is disseminated together with a note explaining major changes between BPM6 and BPM5.
